Product Specifications
Eucalyptus clone plants are genetically selected, high-performing variants of species such as Eucalyptus tereticornis , Eucalyptus camaldulensis , or their hybrids, propagated vegetatively through rooted cuttings or tissue culture. These clones are preferred in commercial plantations due to their fast growth, uniformity, straight bole, high wood density, and improved resistance to pests and diseases. Eucalyptus clones typically grow 25ā40 meters tall with smooth bark, narrow aromatic leaves, and a strong taproot system. They thrive in tropical to subtropical climates, with annual rainfall between 800ā1200 mm and temperatures ranging from 15°C to 45°C. Ideal soil is well-drained sandy or red loam with a pH of 5.5 to 7.5. Clonal plantations are commonly spaced at 3m Ć 1.5m, allowing for around 2200 plants per acre, with a rotation cycle of 6ā8 years for pulpwood and up to 10ā12 years for timber. These clones are widely used in the pulp and paper industry, biomass fuel, plywood, and pole production. Compared to seed-grown plants, clones offer higher and more predictable yields, faster maturity, and better adaptability to marginal lands. While they are generally tolerant to environmental stress, regular monitoring for pests like gall wasps and leaf blight is essential. Overall, Eucalyptus clones provide a cost-effective and sustainable option for commercial forestry and agroforestry projects.
