Product Specifications
Amrapali Mango ( Mangifera indica cv. Amrapali) is a popular hybrid mango variety developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Delhi, by crossing Dashehari × Neelum . It is a dwarf, semi-vigorous, and regular-bearing variety ideal for high-density plantations and backyard cultivation. The tree typically grows to a height of 4–6 meters , making it easy to manage and harvest. Amrapali produces medium-sized, oblong fruits weighing 250–300 grams , with dark red blush on ripening, deep orange, fiberless pulp , and a rich, sweet flavor with TSS around 20–22° Brix . The variety is known for low seed-to-pulp ratio and excellent keeping quality , making it suitable for both table use and transport. Amrapali thrives in tropical to subtropical climates , preferring well-drained loamy or sandy loam soils with a pH of 6.0 to 7.5 . It requires full sunlight , moderate irrigation , and benefits from proper canopy management and pruning. The plant starts bearing fruit within 3–4 years of grafting, with peak harvesting season in June–July . Each mature tree under good management can yield 50–75 kg of fruits per year . The variety is moderately tolerant to mango diseases like anthracnose and powdery mildew but benefits from regular plant protection measures. Due to its compact size, regular yield, rich taste, and suitability for high-density planting , Amrapali is widely recommended for commercial mango orchards, nurseries, and home gardens .
